BRINmaine member institutions include Bates College, Bowdoin College, Colby College, College of the Atlantic, The Jackson Laboratory, the University of Maine and the MDI Biological Laboratory as lead institution.     BRINmaine provides training and mentoring programs for undergraduates and faculty at member institutions. Programs include summer internships, short courses, and a semester-long course planned for 2004.     The scientific focus of BRINmaine is comparative functional genomics.
